Elasticity
What is elasticity?
Elasticity, or more precisely rebound elasticity, is a measure used to describe damping in rubber components. It describes by what percentage the test specimen is repelled by the elastomer. A high value means a low attenuation. Flummis (rubber balls) are known in everyday life for a very high rebound elasticity.
The test is specified in the DIN 53512 or ISO 4662 standard.
