Natural rubber is the most commonly used elastomer for vibration dampers. The main ingredients are natural rubber from the rubber tree and carbon black, along with some other auxiliary and processing materials.

Natural rubber is obtained from the sap of the rubber tree. This latex juice is stabilized and then exported as raw rubber for further processing.

The main suppliers are Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia with almost 80% of the world production.

The abbreviation is NK, but the international abbreviation NR (Natural Rubber) is more common.
