Ethylene rubber (EPDM)
What is ethylene rubber (EPDM)?
Ethylene rubber is short for ethylene-probylene-diene rubber. It is a synthetic rubber, i.e. made from petroleum and natural gas components.
The main use of EPDM is in seals / O-rings and hoses. EPDM has high weather and ozone resistance, can tolerate higher temperatures than NR, and is resistant to many chemicals. EPDM is very rarely used in the field of vibration dampers.
